Our "sale" interaction was straightforward, smooth and successful. I had two sales people with me; started with William & did test drives, then Megan came on board - she was mentoring him. Megan was excellent and attentive, so this review reflects her as William was still training. I went in with the intent on buying the GV80 SUV, but found that it was too high for me to get in and out of due to my mobility issues. I ended up buying the GV70, which is smaller and sits lower. I was interested in a used vehicle. In my search, Gettel came up, having a vehicle that checked all my boxes, looked very good, low miles, and reasonably priced. I contacted the dealership using cars.com and the representative from internet sales returned my email within minutes. I drove almost 90 minutes to the dealership, seen the car which looked exactly like the pictures. When we got back from the test drive to discuss the price, that’s when things went down hill. The advertised price didn’t account for a $3500 “certified fee” or an administrative fee that was added on to “all customers “ and would be “discriminatory” if removed. I understand times are difficult and dealerships need to keep the lights on just like everyone else, but I didn’t appreciate the way I was spoken to regarding this. This was the 3rd dealership I was shopping at, and even though the last 2 dealerships couldn’t close a deal that I felt was fair, they never spoke to me in the tone that I was spoken to. 2 days later, the internet department reached out, and I explained why the deal wasn’t closed. She reached out to the sales manager, and a few minutes later, I received an email from him. He echoed his tone in the email, and referred to the fees as being “state fees”. I never asked to negotiate the sales tax, or DMV plate and registration fees which were clearly itemized in another part of the quote. I’m not going to mention any names in this review, I don’t want anyone to loose there jobs, but honestly and transparency is a better sales approach. I was fortunate enough to close a deal the week after at another dealership.

Very professional staff, not pushy at all.

My salesman was Jonathan Mitchell and was very helpful during and after the transaction was completed. I would highly recommend him to anyone.

They got me in quickly. They were very communicative. Couldn’t ask for better. Madison, my service advisor, was amazing! She kept me advised and made sure that my car was spotless when I got it. Above and beyond. She was amazing!

UPDATE 3/31/2026: I'm happy to bump up the number of stars due to my recent service on the GV70. The water intrusion issue wasn't resolved and there was a service bulletin on the leak. The interior of the vehicle got flooded multiple times and many parts required replacement after the bulletin was applied. Genesis graciously covered the damage claim and restored my vehicle. UPDATE 9/22: 6 weeks after refiling the warranty cancellation a 2nd time, I contacted the finance dept multiple times asking for an update - no response. 2 weeks later, I then reached out directly to the cancellation department, called the number on the auto response e-mail and finally got a rep on the phone. He had NO RECORD OF MY CANCELLATION REQUEST! He then gave me another e-mail address and the magic words to use to get my cancellation processed and I received notice 2 days later that my extended warranty was cancelled. I'm guessing they are engaging in some sort of fraud or number fudging. UPDATE 7/29: After the incident, I decided to cancel the extended warranty through the dealer and get better coverage for less through my credit union. I was told I would get a refund in 4-6 weeks. 8 weeks later, I went to the dealer to find out why I hadn't received my refund. They had no record of my cancellation! I had to file another one. UPDATE 7/22: After the manager responded with his phone number almost 2 months ago, I called several times, left messages on VM and with the receptionist, verified that he does work there and NO response. They don't care about their customers. Sells cars with luxury features but this is NOT a luxury car dealership - I recommend you go elsewhere. TL;DR - The CPO here is NOT equal to a manufacturers warranty like at other luxury dealers, it's more of a basic power train. Stick to the established brands, also, promises of making things right are empty and they ghost you after you buy, I seriously regret my purchase. I purchased a 2022 GV70 sport prestige (top of the line) that was just 3K miles out of manufacturer warranty but had CPO and I dropped $5K on their extended platinum plan. I noticed some condition issues but based on previous experiences at other luxury dealers, I just assumed I would handle it at the first service call. I brought it in after less than 1000 miles and identified the obviously defective trim parts. I was treated fine. I was given an estimate of $6K for a door handle, interior door panel and a hard stain on the seat that won't come out! I called around and realized I had made a terrible mistake. I was lured in by the super features of the brand - AC seats and massage, HUD, blind spot cameras and 375 HP. I was passed around to multiple people and eventually got the sales GM who assured me he would try to "make it right," sent him the estimate. He then ghosted me. He finally called me after a week of no responses and told me to come get my car. He was aggressive, argumentative, and threatening, and said "fine, I won't do anything for you!" to which I assumed he was already doing nothing so no change there. I promised to return the next day to pick up my vehicle and he agreed to continue to "make it right." Over the time it was at the dealer, it rained heavily - turns out my CPO luxury vehicle had plugged sun roof drains and my car flooded. I notified the GM and the service rep when I would be in to pick up the car - and they never responded. I arrived at the dealer ship and everyone was all smiles - but they wanted me to talk to the service manager. They walked me out to the car, explained the situation and promised to "make it right."

I got an oil change from a place in Sarasota last week and they informed me that my 2023 Genesis G70 3.3 Sport Prestige CPO had an oil pan leak. They said I should take it to a dealership. I called three dealerships and Gettel Genesis Lakewood was the one that could get me in the soonest and provide me with a loaner. I took it in yesterday at 8:00 AM and was told by The service advisor, Madison Gonzalez, that it could take 24 to 48 hours for the mechanic to determine what the problem was. She then got me a loaner and said she'd keep in touch as things developed. She called me about noon to tell me they were working on the car sooner thyan they thought and I'd probably get it back that afternoon. She called again around 4:30 to say the car was ready, the oil pan leak was fixed and it was all covered by the warranty. This was an amazingly smooth process. Communication was informatice and timely. The car was repaired quickly and the loaner kept my day from being interrupted. While I didn't buy the car from this dealership, they are my new go-to service dealership. If you have a Genesis and need service, call Madison Gonzales at Lakwood Genesis! You won't be sorry.

Told them if I didn't get them in 30 seconds I was calling 911. They reluctantly gave them to us. Had a copy of their last numbers. Got home and wife ( forensic account) was reviewing it and found $1800 to the dealers favor. Not sure if its deceptive practices or what. This is the second Gettle dealership that tried this. Anyway drove to Sarasota and bought a Lexus in 20 minutes. Beware know your stuff and chk the numbers! Be assertive your there to buy a car not to make friends. If not allowed.

Recently purchased a Certified Preowned Hyundai from Gettel Genesis Of Lakewood. I worked with Alan Ragoonanan. Total experience was fantastic. Everyone I encountered was very friendly and professional. No high pressure sales at all. Appointment to test drive was easy to schedule and all questions about the vehicle and warranty were covered thoroughly. Our Certified Genesis GV70 car buying experience was spectacular with Gettel of Lakewood. From Gina following up with me and answering my emails at 7am on a Sunday, to Ruben taking videos of the car and being an excellent salesman, to finally Rachel who was so nice and helpful securing financing and completing paperwork. Ruben took the lead and secured us new trim that was under warranty so it will be replaced by Genesis. Rachel was honest and actually texted my wife back to let us know she secured a lower rate! How many dealers would have just pocketed the difference or never bother letting us know? No pressure sale and knowledgeable on the workings of the car by Ruben. He treats the car as if it is his and we appreciate him taking such good care of us. We will gladly drive the hour from Tampa next time we are in the market for a car.

Last week I purchased a 2014 CPO Genesis GV80 with very low miles for a great deal. I've never been in a Genesis much less driven one. The vehicle is the bomb! I was devoted to Mercedes for years, but his vehicle blow Mercedes away! Saleman, Alan, could not have been more knowledegeable or user friendly. I have recommended this dealership to many others.

Gettle Hyandai/ Genesis of Lakewood does great maintenance. Glad they are done with the building remodel; it makes the wait times go much faster. They have snacks, beverages, and tv while you wait in comfort. The reps are very helpful and honest.

I would recommend having a ride home while waiting for your car as seating is limited in the portables, and a bit uncomfortable. Parking is very limited, and leaving the service area is difficult. But staff is friendly. Work done was good. Although I made an appointment to go back for some other work needed, and even though the guy said he made my appointment, I never got any emails, texts or notifications that my appointment was made. I'll try again another time. Hopefully construction will be done.

First routine service at this location and it was very pleasant. I dropped my car off, jumped in a loaner vehicle and was on my way back to work. The entire staff was friendly and helpful throughout the process and my car was serviced and ready for pick up at the time given. Will be going back when the time comes.

Great people, great service but this is the second time my car was left with an alert symbol that was not looked into.

This is my 3 rd Genesis very happy with service and staff at Gettal . Sevice department also great !
